Florida's unemployment rate hit 9.4 percent in February, the highest rate in nearly 33 years, the state labor department said Friday.
It was 8.8 percent in January, according to revised figures also released Friday.
South Florida's February rate was 8.2 percent.
County rates were as follows:
• Broward: 8.3 percent.
• Miami-Dade: 7.5 percent.
• Monroe: 6.2 percent.
• Palm Beach: 9.7 percent.
The state lost nearly 50,000 jobs during the month, for a total of 400,000 during the past year.
Both the monthly and yearly losses ranked second in the nation, with only California losing more.
On a percentage basis, the number of jobs in Florida fell 5.1 percent compared to this time last year. That put us at fourth place in the nation, behind Arizona, Michigan and Nevada.
Construction accounted for a quarter of Florida's losses, but every industry lost jobs except private education and healthcare, according to the labor department, which is officially called the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation.
South Florida was better off than some other parts of the state, however. Eleven of Florida's 23 metropolitan areas had jobless rates in the dible digits. Flagler County, which is on the east coast between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach, had the state's worst unemployment rate, 14.2 percent.

Renown art/urban culture site SHUTTERCRACK, showed me some love today. They posted a couple of my pictures on their blog, so go check those out and whole bunch of other amazing photos.
*Update: Still no word on my computer, but when everything gets right... I'm gonna flood the streets !

Here's some work from London based photographer, Nick Turpin.
For the shoot (done for MensHealth magazine) he simply approached appropriately dressed strangers on the street and created an instant studio around them.
Cool concept and great results...

Swedish magazine, Tare Lugnt decided to flip the concept of what a tattoo magazine is with the release of their third issue which (as you can see) is actually a tattoo.

Here's some cool shit I found on the internet. Fucking inspirational I might add.

As far as Hip-Hop goes these days there isn't much that moves me, it took some deep thought and introspection for me to even make this post. With that being said, "Fashawn" really goes in on this.
He can spit and most of his work is well-thought and original. So far so good from what I heard.
Fashawn is rapper from Fresno, CA. He has an upcoming project called Boy Meets World with producer Exile (find "Below the Heavens" immediately if you haven't heard it).

I know that post have been few and far in between, but I'm gonna make sure I bring some normalcy back to Vanity. My computer is on the fritz, so I'm floating around right now between others.
Here are couple of new photo's.

I've decided to take part in my own "100 Strangers" Portrait Project. I figured it can only help my photography and marketing skills. I also thought it would be pretty fun.
Here's my first stranger. I missed her name, but she said she was also into photography and lives in Miami.

To mark four years of W Korea issue, the magazine brought 4 supermodels for a shoot of their 4 covers, Agyness Deyn, Mariacarla Boscono, Vlada Roslyakova and Kasia Struss. Four supermodels will also have four different editorials in the W Korea anniversary issue.

It really feels amazing to be home. The weather, the music (Pro Club), the nightlife, the photo ops, and the hood oddities (See above) are only a few reason why I love it here. I'm gonna try to do a bit more shooting the second half of break, but until then...

Took some time off from the e-world. I'm having a good time on this "vacation." I'm working on a Black and White Portrait Collection and I think these will be my first entries.
Tentatively entitled "The (Har)GrayScale Project"

"You should be honored by my lateness."
It took me a while to work on these, especially with everything going on (school, new mixtape coming, etc...)
It was one of my first paid gigs and I'm happy with the end result. I few of the models let me know they were feelin em' too, so more importantly the client is happy.
Here are a few of my favs.

Okay... In case you didn't know, one of the MAJOR reasons for this blog is to give everyone access to the great musical conglomerate well known as "The Pro Club."
So it gives me great pleasure to expose you to one of my partners-in-rhyme, "Broadway" (The Beast).
Here's his newest joint. It doesn't disappoint...

One of my favorite photographers, Terry Richardson, put together this clean spring/summer ad campaign for the popular Lacoste brand.
